The rise of private security personnel in the 1960s and earlier
Prior to the 1960s, many facilities employed private security officers as "gatekeepers." These officers wore police-like gear and were hired to ensure the security of the facilities. This was primarily in response to the needs of industrial, manufacturing, and government organizations, and was intended to prevent criminal activity. After World War II, the number of private security officers increased dramatically, and they were hired to provide security for factories, military installations, and government facilities.
The rise of video surveillance in the 1960s
In the early 1960s, advances in electronic technology led to the introduction of video surveillance and alarm systems. Companies such as Radio Corporation of America (RCA), Motorola, and General Electric manufactured vacuum tube television cameras, and the introduction of these technologies led to increased security of equipment, reduced costs, and improved camera technology, leading to rapid adoption of video surveillance throughout the 1960s and 1970s.
The development of solid-state cameras in the 1980s
During the 1980s, video surveillance grew at a relatively slow pace, although video security systems improved in capability. One of the biggest technological advancements during this time was the invention and introduction of the solid-state camera. By the early 1990s, solid-state cameras quickly became the new video surveillance security device of choice, especially those using CCD (charge coupled device) image sensors as a replacement for traditional picture tube cameras.
The 1990s and the rise of Internet technology
In the 1990s, computer technology and video security technology merged and all components were solidified. Digital video technology required large-scale digital storage, and video signals had to be compressed to enable the transmission and storage of video images on existing narrowband networks. The development of the Internet and the World Wide Web has made it possible to transmit video and audio, as well as to communicate and send control data globally. WEILAILIFEI's wireless and POE powered security cameras have a built-in microphone, so you can listen to the audio by connecting an earphone to the right side. You can also monitor and play all the audio on your computer or smartphone. The recorder has 8 channels and can be expanded to up to 8 units. We are currently planning to install surveillance cameras in two locations, and if we can expand in the future, we will be able to monitor up to 8 locations. We have adopted a 16-inch large screen IPS monitor and have evolved to 5 million resolution.
WEILAILIFEI is a leader in the development of video surveillance technology, providing advanced solutions to meet the changing needs of our customers. We will continue to drive innovation in the video surveillance field to ensure improved security and efficiency.
